      Nice one Bob! Some of the “is this really a story?” comments made me wonder; if we reveal or imply a story, rather than relate it, is that not the same thing?

      Thanks Ian! All comments are welcome, no matter what. I agree that at 250 word length you’re going to imply in order to squeeze in a story. Is my piece a story, even with that taken into account? I’ll let others decide. I’m grateful for all of the comments and ratings.

      “Broken Waters” is a story, and a damned good one, too. Those who refer to very short flash fiction (which might be redundant, I realize) as “a slice of life” rather than a story lack imagination, in my opinion.
